Terms

Terms of service.

What a firm and Via promise each other. Plain words first; the lawyer’s version follows.

Draft. This text is under review by our lawyer and may change before Via’s first contract.

The service

Via is software for college counseling firms, provided by Digital Life [the legal entity] as a subscription over the internet. The firm gets a tenant of its own, the portal for its families, and the migration of its data from its previous system.

The price

$25 per active student and year, starting at $1,500 a year for up to $60 students, paid once a year in advance by card, in US dollars. An active student is one the firm has not archived; the count is taken on the day of the yearly charge. A pilot of 60 days is free.

The data

The data stays the firm’s. Via processes it under the data processing agreement and the privacy policy, keeps it in the EU, and never uses it for anything but running the service.

What the firm promises

To invite only people it is entitled to invite, to hold the consents its own law asks for, to keep its logins to itself, and to use Via as what it is: a tool for a counseling firm.

Availability and support

Via aims at being there whenever a counselor needs it and announces maintenance in advance. Support is by email at hello@via.college, answered within a working day.

The end

A contract runs for a year and renews unless either side ends it a month before. After the end the firm’s access ends, and the data is handled as the privacy policy says.

Law

Swiss law applies; the courts of [place] are competent. [To be confirmed by the lawyer, together with what a US buyer expects.]
