About
Engineers, and a counselor who had enough of spreadsheets.
Via is made by Digital Life, a software company in Switzerland, together with a college counseling firm of 300 students whose founder spent twenty years in college admissions offices.
Why Via
A firm ran on a tool built for schools, a timer and a sheet.
The firm paid ten thousand dollars a year for software built for a school, kept its application steps on a spreadsheet, counted nobody’s hours, and the families asked by email what was due.
So we built the tool for a firm: the student record with the hours in it, the application plan from the firm’s own steps, the caseload across every counselor, and a portal with the firm’s name on it. Built on its real sheets and its real steps, then offered to firms like it.
One rule from the first day: Via shows, counselors judge. No match scores, no scattergrams, no “fit”. The counselor’s judgment is the firm’s product; software that pretends to replace it is selling the wrong thing.

Twenty years in college admissions offices, then a firm of 300 students. Via was built with that firm, on its sheets, its steps and its hours.
